Every permit, registration and membership we hold — and what each one means for the trip you book.
Go Trek Nepal Himalaya has operated from Thamel, Kathmandu since 2006 as a fully registered and licensed Nepali company. Nothing below is decorative: these are the documents that let us issue your permits, insure your crew and put a licensed guide in front of you. Ask to see any of them at our office — originals hang on the wall.
Go Trek Nepal Himalaya is a private company registered with the Office of the Company Registrar and recognised by the Ministry as a trekking and tour operator.
Our operating licence is issued and renewed annually by the Nepal Tourism Board — the licence that legally allows us to run trekking and tour departures.
TAAN membership binds us to the association's code of conduct on porter welfare, insurance and fair pricing, and lets us issue TIMS cards for your trek.
Our NMA affiliation covers permits for the trekking peaks — Island, Mera, Lobuche East — and the climbing standards our guides are held to.
Through KEEP we fund porter clothing, trail clean-ups and the responsible-trekking briefings every one of our groups receives before departure.
Your trip is run by the licensed company you booked with — not sold on to a third party the morning you land. Every permit is issued in our name.
Each guide holds a Government of Nepal trekking guide licence and current wilderness first-aid training. Since 2023 a licensed guide is mandatory on most routes — we have worked that way since 2006.
Guides and porters are salaried and insured by us, with helicopter rescue cover in place. We will show you the policy before you pay a deposit.
TIMS cards, national park and conservation area fees, restricted-area permits and NMA peak permits are arranged by our Thamel office before you arrive.
Ask and we will email scans of our tourism licence, company registration and TAAN membership — or check our licence number directly with the Nepal Tourism Board before you send a deposit.
